I sell Rover used parts in my eBay shop. I am a qualified motor engineer and have run my own workshop since 1974. Looking after and repairing customers vehicles has helped me to recognise their needs.
This consideration has been brought into the selling of used parts.
Customers need to be satisfied and happy.
I stock many parts for convenience, cleaned, checked, working and usually with bolts clips and other fixings. The reasoning being that when my customer attempts to fit one of my items, it makes life easier if they don`t have to hunt around for that missing bolt, at night or the weekend etc. I can also give advice as regards fitting the item. In fact, my business is based on what I would look for if I were buying an item. This also includes postage & packing, being reliable, answering the customers questions and giving re-assurance if there are problems.
If it isn`t good enough for me, then it`s not good enough for my customer.
Generally I like Paypal as it`s instant and safe. Other payment methods are listed on my adds as and when appropriate.
Postage & Packing is usually by first class mail.
Overseas postage is by International signed for, airmail, or Global priority.
I use the Royal Mail and Parcelforce.
Customers are advised that packing is at my discretion so as to allow for the safe arrival of the item. It should be noted that the Royal Mail and Parcelforce will NOT REFUND THE POSTAGE COST FOR AN ITEM BROKEN WHILST IN THIER CARE. The advertised cost of P&P includes packaging and handling costs. There are occasions when an item is much cheaper than the advertised cost to post (such as when I use a lighter weight packing material) In this case, the customer will receive a partial refund.
The over-riding factor is the item arriving in the condition the customer would expect, without damage. Discounts are given for items posted together, although there are exceptions. These are judged on individual merit. Packing charges are for `out of pocket` expenses only, they are not marked up for profit.
What IS covered. Items supplied incorrectly to the listing, Faulty or Broken items will be given a refund or replacement including postage. What is NOT COVERED. Items damaged by, altered or not fitted in the intended application by the customer, their agent or person fitting the item. This particularly applies to electronically sensitive items, where we will not accept returns under any circumstances unless they are returned UNFITTED. Items bought by mistake are viewed on individual merit.
Distance seller regulations. Customers have the right to cancel within 7 days of receipt. Returns under these rules will be at the customers own expense, in their original condition with the packing. There will also be a re-stocking fee of 20%. Refunds will be made when the item has returned safely. All problems MUST be reported within 7 days of receipt of the item to qualify for refund or replacement.
