Far better than expected
My old workshop radio had died so I was searching for a digital radio to replace it. Looking for something not too large and reasonably priced and found this Azatom Spitalfields model so decided to chance it. Absolutely delighted with it and it far exceeded my expectations - the sound quality is brilliant and can be wound up to 11 with no appreciable distortion which for a radio of this size and price is amazing. I run it through mains power but it has a rechargeable battery which according to the manual will give between 4 - 6 hours play time so I can also use it as 'day out' radio if I want to. I found the menu a bit of a fiddle at first but fine when you get used to it and certainly not bad enough to deduct a star from the rating.
Highly recommended product.

Much improved light output
A much improved light but as others have pointed out the conversion is quite thick which means that the top lens/bulb unit only screws down a few threads instead of all the way although still works.
The original reflector has a thick collar at it's base. If you are a competent diy'er with a Dremel or similar this can be ground off which allows the top unit to screw down several threads further and gives improved focussing. Even if you can't do this I would still recommend the conversion for the better light output.

Nice clock but be aware the night display is VERY bright.
Nice solid clock which is easy to set up and has a clear display. It has a sensor which automatically turns on the backlight when it gets dark and this was much brighter than expected. I bought it for my wife who needed a bedside light with a display that could be read at night but it was so bright she couldn't sleep and as it can't be turned off it now lives in the spare bedroom.
This was the only reason I gave it 3 stars and not 5 so if a very bright light by your bed isn't likely to bother you then I can highly recommend it.
