About

I m using this account on eBay to purchase computer hardware for my software research and development project. I want to implement the algorithms in a HPC environment and am building computers for many-core massive parallel computer demonstrations.

TREND NO VOLT RELEASE SWITCH ASSEMBLY 230V FOR THE PRT ROUTER TABLE WP-PRT/10
26 Aug, 2020
No volt release switch for my own table design
I'm making my own router table and needed a no volt release switch. The Trend switch is perfect for the purpose and is now in place in front of the table with easy access for switching on an off the inverted router under the table. An improvement in design: a larger off button for emergency stops, as now found on many woodworking machines.
Dell 2709W 27 inch HD Monitor - Slight screen Issue

"old" screens still going strong!
I am building a video wall on the cheap, i.e., with limited resources I have been able to buy sufficient number of "old" screens to have eight 27" screens driven by two Nvidia NVS510 graphics cards. I chose to buy Dell screens and opted for the UltraSharp 2709W as this model was available on eBay regularly at an affordable price. To get there however, I have had to buy screens with defects, like broken frames and stripes on the screens, even "sold for parts and repair". I have learned to repair the screens at my kitchen table, cannibalising some for parts (PCBs) to go into others that now works fine. So, to me, the stripes on the screens are not significant, and in most screens they fade away, even disappear, after 5-10 minutes. A compromise I have to live with is the wide bessel on these screens, The remaining problem I have is that the NVS510 uses the DisplayPort input which may not be controlled remotely, so some screens cannot be switched to 1920x1200 (recommended resolution) by the operating system, causing all screens to revert to the resolution that the problem screen is (hard) set to. But, again, spare parts and ability "to fix problems I know nothing about", has proven invaluable. I have now three 27" screens in front of me when I develop my software application, I don't know how I managed without them in the past. I recommend other to do the same as me.
