The Science of Sleep
This film is beautiful. Gael Garcia Bernal plays an imaginative daydreamer who has trouble distinguishing between dreams and reality. I was sceptical at the outset, but the intelligent cinematography and the simplicity of the dream landscapes really made this film come alive for me.
Despite being half in French (with subtitles of course!) and half in English, it is not difficult at all to follow.
This is a very different film, and takes a while to grasp, but when it 'clicks,' you'll be hooked! I wanted others to see it too, so I bought my friends and family a copy each for Christmas.
