ME! - Richard Powell. I am the eldest son of Graham and Mary and I started 'playing around' with selling on eBay in late 2004, whilst still maintaining a high profile role in our High Street store. After about 1 year and an increase in eBay sales, I was put on a 6 month trial, where I was to work on eBay full time. I soon learnt that by spending more time on creating effective, clear listings and by increasing our product range on eBay the sales increased. I still help out in the High Street store when needed but my main job is now to develop our eBay business and serve customers all around the globe! I take pride in serving customers online in a friendly, efficient and honest style which our family have used to build up our original and existing retail business. I hope to serve you soon!

The Powell family originated from the Welsh valleys many years ago and after working in export sales for over 10 years, Graham Powell, owner of The Emporium joined forces with his brother, Raymond Powell, in a small retail shop located at the centre of Maldon High Street. After a few years of building a great reputation in the town, by offering great service and great value for money products, they moved into a much larger shop in the High Street. Raymond Powell retired from the business in the mid-90's leaving Graham and his wife, Mary to run and develop the new, larger High Street store. Graham and Mary thrived at this opportunity and have never looked back!

We try to hold all stocks in our warehouse so you can rely on rapid shipping of your purchases. We aim to post orders within 48hrs of payment being received but more often than not goods are despatched within 12hrs!
