Sony ericsson K850i
6 of 6 found this helpful Sonys K850i is i would say sonys best phone up to date for its camara but it dosnt come with out its problems. First the keys are abit weird for texting on they are very well spaced apart but they are abit small, but ive only had the phone 2 days now and im starting to get used to it all ready so if you can see past something small like that it shouldnt cause you problems. Second thing it picks up finger prints like flys on poo, again only another small problem but that would annoy some people to death so you can either live with that or you cant. The third is the biggest problem its in BIG need of a firmware update this should be considered when buying this phone if you really like and you really want this phone personaly i would hold out for the new firmware to be sorted out. The problems at the moment with the firmware on most of the K850i are,
1. The flash is not in sync with the lens shutter this can cause dark pictures in low light.
2. Some times the camara lens cover will not open.
3. The touch sensitive keys just under the screen seem to have a mind of there own sometimes, i must admit those when they do work they work very well.
They are really the main problems with it at the moment there are some other smaller things wrong as well but nothing thats going to kill you. But all of the above problems are all firmware related so as soon as SE and all the networks get there butts into gear and release a stable firmware all these problems should be fixed. (Or lets hope so).
As for the phone its self its very nice good shape good size not to heavy, again its not running symbian like the nokias do so you do have a lack of what sort of 3rd party software it will run but for the most part the pre installed software is good and if you look around there are some good 3rd party apps out there for it. It will run apps like google maps and it is also able to run sat nav, nav4all seems to work fine on it, But it has no built in gps so you will need to buy one.
The camara all i can say is excellent other than the little firmware problems its just amazing the pictures are sharp and very clear and for taking night pictures useing the xenon flash your not going to get any better, I would say that it takes pictures clearer than the N95 does these a little less noise around the edges and the pics from the K850i also look better up on your pc screen as well.
