Apple iPod classic 6th Generation 80 GB
I previously owned a YP-U2 2GB mp3 player which lasted over 3 years which still works and has never let me down however as my music collection has grown I needed a larger music device to put it on. My friends highly recommended an iPod as there was so much more to offer. To begin with I was hesitant as I knew the prices on them were very expensive, however after my friends agreed to help find me find one we decided to shop around. Ebay was the first and only place we looked on and I was shocked at some of the starting prices for the newer models and ones with over 120GB I was looking at over £150! I started to look for smaller and thought 80GB would be more than enough. After some searching I came accross a 'buy it now' offer on 3 iPod, all of which were 80gb 6th gen classic iPods within my price range. The first of which had no pictures of the iPod... I'm sorry but anyone who is interested in buying an iPod I would recommend having pictures of the product you are buying. The next one had a picture which was not of the iPod for sale, yet again I would only buy an iPod with a genuine picture, this way you know exactly what your buying, the condition of the product and how much the owner cared for the product. The final iPod on my search was the one I bought. It had 3 pictures of the product and it was in beautiful condition, it had a small list of videos and tv shows already on it and a few games to try out. The price I was looking at was £80 and for a second hand iPod that was a bargain compared to rest of the searches I came back with, some 80GB iPods went up to £110! Upon recieving the product and playing around with it I found it a brilliant new electronic addition to the family. The sound quality was the best I've ever heard, the video quality was brilliant for a 2 1/2 inch screen and the options of what I could do were enough to keep myself occupied however I did find one or two flaws to the iPod perhaps compared to an mp3 or other music devices. The first one is the controls and navigation. When scrolling through your music you have to slide your finger around the centre button which sometimes may not be picked up specially when you first switch it on, this also can be very frustrating or difficult with any games you play on your iPod as moving in certain directions means you having slide you finger instead of simply pressing up or down. It is also not very reliable for long distance runners like myself who like to skip songs. I have an armband which you can slide your iPod into instead of holding the product, it looks smart on your arm and does give you the space to hold a water bottle in your hand however there is the issue of skipping tracks, when running fast it's hard to tap the skip button without turning the volume up or down, pausing the track or going into the menu, this can also be frustrating. The last issue I personally had which would not be an issue for perhaps others is that there is no play speed option on the iPod unlike the YP-U2 I previously owned. This option enables you to slow down or speed up your music to suit you. For example If you wanted to play guitar and copy a song at a slower speed as a beginner, or for example like myself if you like to speed up the song to run to and generally prefer the song to be faster. I still cannot put the iPod down, it is the best technology you can get around and can barely be faltered however because of the few minor issues I have I rate the product 4/5
