ChangesWell thats was a different sort of week. Can't say I like these new policies much.Adapt and survive though, lot's of speculation about what might happen, so I am going to worry about the things I need to worry about, and ignore those I don't.<02-Feb-08 02:20:06 GMTComments0
Another reason I like ebays "my messages"I like my buyers using this system of communicating with me because I can at a glance tell a lot about the buyer.Their feedback, its its 90% something, I get suspicious and check it out.If they have been in a transaction or notIf they are telling me about an error in the listing, I have everything in front of me to check.Yes it's slower and clunkier than email, but it doesn't get spam trapped, and because every on23-Jan-08 20:06:27 GMTComments4
Lessons learntHere in the UK we have just had postal strikes. This has caused massive disruption to the delivery of goods to buyers. Looking round at the sellers who have collected lots of negatives for slow delivery during these strikes, one thing has become quite clear, all the negative feedback seems to have a single theme to it. "No response to emails, no 14-Nov-07 14:17:09 GMTComments1
DSR'sQuote from eBay "We know from our analysis of detailed seller ratings that, for any given rating, only 1-2% of sellers have an average score below 4.0 (I'd rather the spread was larger, but there you go). In the case of the 'postage & packing charges' DSR, these 1-2% of sellers in turn account for about a third of buyer complaints. So, we're thinking of taking dramatic acti14-Nov-07 13:36:36 GMTComments0
Emotions.Sadly its that time of year :( What time of year is that? It's the "duldrums", it's the quiet period between the end of the winter, and the start of the next winter. Sales always slump during this period, unless you are in specialist "summer" market. This happens every year, and ebay wise, sorts out the men from the boys. Those sellers which can show a bit of foresight and forward planning will see it through, those that rest on their winter laurels won't survive. Emotions also run high, tho...18-Jun-07 22:29:43 BSTComments5
FinallyIt's been a funny old year so far. At the beginning of the year we had major building work going on, finishing around 5 weeks ago. This disrupted our packing systems, and meant stock had to be stored wherever it could be, it also meant that the effeciency and speed we could get the goods out dropped, this was reflected in feedback, from an average around 1,000 per month, dropping to a low of 736, and averaging around 850. The last two weeks have been spent relocating all the stock to a centr...15-Jun-07 22:27:57 BSTComments4

Google checkout went live in the UK todayGoogle has just announced that checkout is live in the UK http://checkout.google.com/support/sell/bin/answer.py?answer=42871&topic=8664 Even though ebay don't yet accept it as a payment method, for other online outlets such a websites, it will make a dent in paypals stanglehold on online payments By far and away the most popular method used by people to search for goods is via google, by now having an associated payment method, this is bound to drive traffic away from ebay and paypal, forcin...13-Apr-07 12:40:54 BSTComments0
Just a nice dayEvery once in a while you just have a good day don't you?, a day that is ebay free, doing something you enjoy doing, but rarely do it. Just kicking back and relaxing after a long day, and just sighing, because is just been a great day.08-Apr-07 23:50:33 BSTComments1
Look before you leapJust lately there seems to be a lot of people complaining about eBay Or more specifically the way ebay have let them down. This months hot topic is the lack of visibilty in the USA. This is now my 7th year as a ebay seller, and I still remember the day I signed up for an account, my thought process went like this "Ok, this ebay seems good, for the amount of exposure to buyers they can give me, compared to other online outlets, its a great deal, however it would mean I was putting my business...31-Mar-07 20:42:47 BSTComments3
