AJ - LOL! Are you trying to say, I am an Auti-Mum with an attitude?! :-) PMSL - you got in one! This mum has had enough of taking 'stares and tuts' and is fighting back in the only way I know how - Humour! On the serious side, I would seek out the official label for your child, it might help in the future, if he needs further help. Without the official label, help in adulthood might not be offered.

Hi Sheena I would like to say, that it is brilliant what you are doing and I think you have a great sense of humour. I know this is needed, from my personal experience. My son is 15 this year I have so many problems even now he is not formally diagnosed, only self diagnosed, and the doctors agreed he is on the autistic spectrum. But this was not noted on his records till he was 8 yrs old. uptill then I was always told no nothing wrong with him, he naughty. So I will be keeping a close eye on your business and will be buying from you.

Hi Chocomint, I sincerely hope that the items you have purchase help in making your son's public life a little bit easier. It is really scarey that despite all our efforts and the increases in the rates of ASD so little is known about he condition out there. If there is anything I can help with, please drop me a line, and I will do my best. Sheena.

Cathhappy, I am so glad the tee worked with your youngest, and you are getting a little bit more tolerance in public. I agree with you, my eldest will be 17 this year, and the attitudes still haven't changed. If there is anything else you think I should be doing to raise awareness please let me know.

When I went out shopping with my son who is severely autistic, he had his "I have autism please be patient" tshirt on.This is the first time I had been to a supermarket with him and didn't get stared at or had awful comments made to me.It's such a shame having to put a sign on my son but it's the only way my life outside is made easier.Do you know I also have an older son with autism who is 20 now and all these years have passed (my youngest one is nearly 4)and the public are just as bad as they were then. There is still not enough made about autism and I think what you do certainly helps awareness but we need the word spread even more.Anyway, thank you for your products, Catherine.

catr10na - Hi Cat, many thanks for signing our guest book. I'm so glad, many parents are finding our items help them raise more awareness.. (I am also glad you share my sense of humour!) Many thanks for advertising our shop for us. Sheena.

rosenquist97 - Susan - I don't care if you never buy from me, you just keep me laughing! I love reading your e-mail and messages, they put life into prospective! - Thank You very much, often when I have had a stressed out day, your message arrives, and everything fine! You really are one in a million - Thank You very much for being there! I am aware of the exchange rate, and have started a new ID - shopautism - when I have enough feedback, I am going to open a US based shop and trade in USDs. I might have to work on reduced profits for now, but raising the profile of Autism is much more important then profits. Keep an eye on shopautism hoping I can sell enough by the end of this month to open a shop soon! Sheena.

abbie230601 - Many thanks for taking time to sign my guest book. I have been there with anxiety attacks, I wish I could assure you that things get easier as our children get older, I am afraid to say, as one anxiety is reduced, another one takes its place, our children, you are right, have a very serious condition which is invisible, we must do more to raise awareness, and I hope my items help a little. My one regret is that we have to put billboards on our children to get get the message across to the public that OUR CHILDREN ARE NOT NAUGHTY BUT HAVE AUTISM.

A different Drummer because I am Unique! All these high profile campaigners are they doing anything worth while? Are they raising awareness for the right services or with the right people? Yes, the profile of Autism has risen quite a lot, over the last few years, we have all done our part and it got confirmed for us last year that 1 in 100 children are on the Autistic Spectrum.. Yes more campaigns, all dedicated to Autism Awareness, all high profile, whilst our National Spokesmen Charity slept through it all or jumped on the04-Jan-08 11:34:07 GMTComments2
A cry for Help eBay Members Please help make a difference.Hi Everyone, Can you please look at the below message I recieved today and help this mum save what very little provision we have for our children by signing her petition. In the UK there are over 500,000 ++++ children with autism & a lot of them have serious communication difficulties. Speech and language Therapy (SALT) provision provided by the state is seriously lacking (my own 14 year old has only seen a SALT 3 times in her whole life, and she has serious communication difficulties, (she ...18-Jul-07 22:19:54 BSTComments0
