I started working in the model trade in the early 80's at Lamberts in Ilford, Essex who, at that time were one of the world's leading specialist model car retailers. I then ran my own model car business initially in Southend for 2 years and then for 5 years the business was based at Brands Hatch Circuit but the 90's recession forced me to close. I moved on to assist in the projected relaunch of Hawke Racing Cars followed by several years working at for Matchbox model specialist Paul Carr at Carr Collectables. In recent years rising shop rents have made it almost impossible to launch another model/memorabilia shop as a full time business so I currently run Autoavia as a hobby and have recently launched a website at www.autoaviamodels.com.
