All About MeWhat everyone should know about me
We lost a child through Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (cot death) in 1991 and sell items to raise cash for charities, currently the FSID as Ceri would have been 18 this year. We use a shop to cut overheads as the listing fees are reduced.

Business InformationHistory/background
My husband first started selling and buying on eBay not long after it started. After our daughter died, we opened another account to raise money for a variety of causes, initially the Foundation for the Study of Infant Death. We sold our own unwanted things initially and then started to receive donations of items. We now use the proceeds for the sale for a number of charities. We use the shop as the listing fees are considerably reduced and can sell using the Buy It Now options far more successfully than by using random lottery auctions. The recent move by eBay to force us to sell items with inclusive Post and Packaging charges has caused us some difficulties in terms of reconciling the net charitable takings from sales but seems to have increased sales so, overall, this was probably a good thing.

Delivery information
All our items are sent using RECORDED DELIVERY to the UK and by INTERNATIONAL RECORDED DELIVERY to abroad. We did not use this initially but we found that we were suffering from a high percentage of buyers claiming not to have received items and successfully reclaiming the PAYPAL payments, in spite of our attempts to show Proof of Postage. This was particularly acute for sales overseas which made the total loss unacceptable. Since the swap to recorded delivery, the claims for non-receipt of items have completely evaporated and it seems to be appreciated by the buyers who like to receive the Tracking ID numbers from the Royal Mail upon posting. It is also immensely usefull when buyers ask where their item is, the RM website can tell you if a delivery has been attempted. Due to surfeit of of very low value items, we are trialling use of First Class Post again for UK buyers in an attempt to keep costs down for buyers and maximise profits for the charity. So far, this is a success.
Return policy
We accept returns for nearly all sold items unless otherwise stated e.g. SOLD AS SEEN items. To return an item, raise the appropriate ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED case with eBay and follow the instructions
