A great speaker hub. reviewed.
There arnt that many, notebook or laptop speakers out there that look good and give good sound, most are cheap and nasty looking, or even over priced. But logitech have done wonders with this little speaker hub.
Frist the boxing of the item is fantasicly done, giving clear indications to what you get, and what it does, as well as the whole insides are well packaged, and compacted down. inside you get the speaker hub, power adapter with EU/UK plug switcher, a usb cable adapter *will get to this* and a manual.
The hub its self is a good weight, and very compacted, looks sleak and goes well with most laptops ive compared it agenest, tho at the momemnt its with my MSI wind notebook, and it doesnt look out of place at all. The idea of moving the speakers length ways is brill, fits around most screens. And the bass on this beast is pretty nice, tho not the best output, BUT this is for a laptop and is a hub based system, so its pretty brill for the small package. The sound quailty is very nice, no distorition, no fade, or any type of issue, its very clean. Ive used this for music and for gaming, both came out very well, and very responsive. a good addition to this is the usb hub at the back and webcam stand. The usbs can run at 2.0, tho the orignal usb has to be conntected for 2.0 speeds. theres 3 of them, and plenty for a laptop! The webcam stand that connects to the front is a nice idea, tho most laptops i have, and on the market have there own, and let alone it only really fits logitiech ones, but u can rest one on it, thers allways blue tack =). The other nice part about this is the volume dial, it acts as a power button as well, and has a really nice orange glow, and looks nice to look at. Over all its a nice little kit what you get.
Tho there is downsides. it requires its own power source, which doesnt make handy for portible use, so if you want this for on the go, there wont be NO go! This is purely for home use, but i wouldnt take it outside in case of ruining it anyway ;)
The other down side is the length of the cable. its quite small, BUT its a god send as well, depending on what laptop your using, the cable can be to small and doesnt reach, or it fits perfect without over hanging cable. THO if it does need a adapter there is one, but its HUGE! so best bet find a nice small one to give your cable extra length =)
Over all the product is lovely to look at with its meshy fabric covering, gloosy plastic stand, glowing light on the side, and the sliding speakers.
This could be well used for a Compacted home room, for use with a pc. Like students or even people with small rooms that have a pc in there, want a good gaming sound, but dont have room for a 5.1 system. Just go for one of these beasts! There cheap now days and do good justice for it.
