hi! apart from this site, I have a shop in Nottingham, at 67, Mansfield Road, city end, and have been in business for nearly 20 years! I sell on two floors , and am a local shop for local people!

right, we have a floor of furniture, mainly 1950s, eg ercol, g-plan, Formica, and curtains etc, another floor of cabinets stuffed full of awful jewelery from the past, and small bits of interesting stuff, and lots of handbags. we also do clothing, 70s, 80s, and Levi jeans etc, we are popular with the student population, and take cards!

I will buy anything that is kitsch and awful, love the 50s British take on the American dream style, fabrics that scream at you, Victorian sentimental ornaments, industrial looking items for the household, g-plan furniture, glass old and new, and handbags old and new.

abstract art, Bernard rooke, and other studio pottery of that style, basil Mathews animals, interesting kitchen items, and table lamps from the 1950s to the 1980s. oh, and lady head vases, [see piki]

Daphneshandbag opened about 19 years ago on forest road Nottingham, and was a great success, and we still sell what was selling then, as tastes have not changed, only the prices on the items! I remember having the biggest pieces of things like troika pottery, and whitefriars glass, and trying to get 30 pounds for an item like that was difficult! oh how things have changed, and if we knew then what we know now blah blah blah!!

I think paypal is the only way, dont you?

I always post first class, usually the next day, and charge around 50p to 2.00 for packing the larger items, and 10p to 1.00 for the smaller. if you are local, you can pick it up from the shop!
