Liz Duplaa was born and raised in a small town called Teófilo Otoni, in the Southeast part of Brazil, in the State of Minas Gerais. Liz’s first memories are playing in her parent’s shoes boutique with her 6 siblings. The family shoes boutique was known for their impeccable taste in shoes, always introducing the latest European styles. In order to keep up with ever changing fashion industry, Liz father travelled abroad often to research the new fashion trends in Europe. Liz lost her father at the age of seven years old, but her mother kept the family shoes boutique open and raised her 7 children with the profits from her successful business. Liz Duplaa’s passion for design was inherited and today Liz Duplaa creates her own designs, keeping the memories of her childhood in the details of every new pair of shoes.

All animals used in the manufacturing of Liz Duplaa shoes are bread in captivity for this specific purpose. Liz Duplaa is licensed by the IBAMA, Brazil's environmental law enforcement agency, and her shoes are approved for exportation. No wild animals are ever sacrificed in the manufacturing of these shoes. License is available upon request.
