OK so it's October 2016 and my MT-2017 has just arrived. I can't give a full review because I haven't a clue how to use the thing! That's is only a short term problem as there are lot's of YouTube videos to learn from but I am sure it will be a great asset in sorting out the electrics on my model railway and Grandkids toys.
What I can review is some of the changes. This new model has two separate battery compartments and the 9v and two AA batteries are now really simple to install.
This model also has two stands in the back. One large one to give an almost upright bench position and then a second one to give a lower bench angle and the opportunity to hang the Multimeter up off the work bench.
Finally the yellow knob on my multi meter has no slack or play in it and has a firm positive movement.
I think these changes address most of the problems other reviewers have commented on.
The layout on the front face also seems a little different to previous models but everything is still there just in a different place. Maybe this is because of the revised battery positioning inside the case.
For a tenner this has to be an unbeatable piece of kit and like my phone and laptop I will probably never really know what it is capable of doing.
