I've been a book collector for 20 years, having bought and sold over that time primarily to fund my own collecting. I do not make my living selling on Ebay, thus have no need to take advantage of buyers.

Rare books, first editions, signed books as a rule so they are not cheap! Early impressions if scarce. Generally modern authors, I specialise in J.R.R. Tolkien and Wilbur Smith.

Books few others have, either scarce, becoming so or the condition is rare. Books turned into films and signed books.

Hiking and outdoor activities, travel, exploration.

Wilbur Smith, Tolkien, fantasy, action, thrillers.

I do treat my book dealing professionally, although it is not my main business. Whenever I have spare money from it, I buy more books! I believe internet business should be fast and convenient. All orders are shipped within two days. On a rare occasion transactions don't go as expected. I always try and work things out amicably first, but don't tolerate dishonesty or someone trying to gain an undeserved advantage.

As long as it reaches me within 2 days or you've organised in advance that it won't, I don't mind. Items over £100 need to be paid for within one day or will be re-listed. If you say you'll pay a certain date, please do so to save both our time. Please don't bid/buy one of my books if you don't have the means to pay promptly or start into excuses.

I charge slightly more for packaging and my time to provide faster delivery. Having a book arrive damaged because of poor packaging is completely unnecessary. UK shipping is expensive. I automatically insure on books over £150 selling price, but insurance costs can rise the more expensive the book, £1000+ There's no refund for lost shipments uninsured.

If the book isn't as described i.e. knowingly misrepresented, I'll happily refund upon receiving the book back. All sales are final. Note, that you found one cheaper the next auction is not a valid return reason. Note also, identifying rare books takes extensive research and still may be subject to opinion. I represent my books on their on merits. Ask before you bid if you have any detailed questions.

I'll provide photograph, descriptions and what I think I know about a particular book based on general public knowledge, however I don't claim to be a scholar or book expert. All books are sold as-is on the basis of the book and condition described. Please, do your research before placing a bid or buying anything expensive from me or anybody else.

All my books are listed at the minimum price I'll accept. If you would like a book from me, but don't want to risk it being bid up, contact me for a buy-it-now price. If there's already a bid, the auction stands. Do not ask for a price below the minimum asking price as I'll only say no. Keep watching as I may re-list it a lower price later if I acquire a cheaper one the my average costs goes down. I list on multiple book selling sites and may withdraw a listing at any time if sold elsewhere. I'll never withdraw it if it has a bid. If you want it, please bid during the auction!
