The Boomtown Rats (remastered)
If you like a CD of diverse beats and rifts I had the album on tape. Then, the song "another piece of red" got stuck in my head. Only, I couldn't recall the name of the artist. After googling some lyrics, it appeared. I found another copy Mondo Bongo here on ebay. Its an easy CD to listen to, both for work and for driving. For a fiver, you can beat early Geldoff and company. You can find some of their discography and info at www.BoomTownRats.co.uk, as well as about the web. Not the highest rated work on their site, but, maybe it is because others discovered the other works before this one. If you have a chance to get Boomtown Rats Mondo Bongo for less than a fiver, it well worth a listen, especially if you like early Irish rock.

Some great glass! for playing on a budget!
The minolta rokkor lenses are a fun to play with. I have bought a few, as they tend to run between 15-50£ and thus remain pretty affordable. The f/1.4 lenses are very bright. This makes them great for shooting indoors without a flash. Moreover, the rokkor glass yields some very nice colors and sweet bokeh when paired with a minolta dynax 5d. I have started my students using these and other lenses to reclaim the fun of focusing a lens, and setting the f-stop. For more information about the rokkor lenses, see the rokkor files: http://www.rokkorfiles.com/

silence is golden, not expensive noise canceling
While the Jabra C820s doen't cost a chunk of gold, they also are not the top of the line for noise canceling. Where they win, is that they are an excellent value for money. Moreover, they can take some power and have a very nice sound when matched with even a small headamp like one of the FIIOs or a cmoy. While I prefer my Bose for the noise canceling, the great part about the Jabra's is that the offer more ambient noise isolation, such that once you have them on the ears, and even when they are switched off, there is significant noise protection. As such, I have sold them to one of my students who is very happy with them. For anyone on a budget they make a very good choice.
