the phone was designed for the US customer, It's ready for AT&T and T-mobile. You just need insert your SIM card into the phone then you can make or receive a call,MMS SMS no matter you have a data plan or not , No need any other settings. And you needn't activate the phone in the Service store. May I have your email, then I can send the settings to you.

I bought a SJ816 on ebay and I took it to AT&T I was told that it cannot connect to them and I emailed the person I bought it from and never heard back. I gave it to my daughter for Chrisrmas and I guess it was a mistake
