Business Information

History/background
Our aim is to fundraise for state-of-the-art medical equipment and facilities for the Royal United Hospital, Bath; over and above what is provided by the NHS. The NICU ‘space to grow’ Campaign is our current focus - aiming to raise £4.7 million to build a brand new sustainable Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, for the benefit of the 500 premature and sick babies who rely on the unit each year.

The NICU 'space to grow' Campaign
Our premature and desperately ill babies need 24 hour care, 365 days of a year. Their survival depends on the skills of doctors and nurses in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at The Royal United Hospital, Bath. Staff caring for these tiny babies currently face a daily battle with cramped and inadequate space in the existing unit, where upto four incubators are in rooms suitable for just one; there is no privacy for distressed new parents or nursing mothers; extremely limited access and often the conditions in the unit are too hot and noisy to aid the development of these tiny babies. Therefore our aim is to fundraise £4.7million to build a brand new sustainable Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, aimed at creating a wonderful, optimistic healing environment. The new build will be more than double the size of the current one, offering a safer and calmer environment for both new parents and premature and sick babies. It will be a case study for the next generation of healthcare.
