Good for the price but very good after you modified it
1 of 1 found this helpful The locomotive has a very good appearance. It is also reasonably robust.
I have 3, one new and 2 bought as spares/repair. The remote is a bit abrupt but works fine. Max remote distance was about 5-6 meter circle in my case.
All my ones are working fine, the spares/repair ones was repair of the RC drive PCBs which both had blown transistors due to the wheels not turning.
If you are willing to put some work in it then these become from good for the price to very good. I have replaced the remote with one from Deltang (TX22 and matching RX receiver) because the existing remote works but isn't brilliant, good enough with some tweaking. With the new remote these can drive from very slow to way too fast, so the mechanism can work well.
I have added a pound of weight as well which makes big difference, it now goes over the tracks even with grass and some leaves, much less track cleaning required.
So if you are willing to get your hand dirty these are great. Out of the box without changes they are a reasonable good value.

Better than expected. Nice surprise.
I bought this for a old delta printer upgrade. Flsun QQ, that has a bit cumbersome conduction bed levelling. This has a switch that could replace it and operates when the nozzle is pushed on the bed. Needs some spacers to hold the hot end steady, but then it works great. Think the repeatability is 0.025 to 0.05mm. That is good enough for me and eliminate the need for a conductive plate levelling.

Solid and robust.
I don't seem to be able to keep my other thermocoupless very long. A few firings and that is it.
This one is very robust and adjustable so it doesn't still in the kiln too much by accident.
So far it works great. (And quick delivery as well). Excellent thermocouple
