John Lennon The Messenger
1 of 1 found this helpful Bought this to get a good biography of John Lennon. I only paid £1 and felt that I was robbed. Biographical details are few and far between. Poorly edited and uses only old television media content with a few inconsequential interviews mixed in. Absolutely nothing new and reveals no insight into the subject. Unless you MUST have everything published about John Lennon save your money for more worthwhile items.

If you like Jackie Leven or Ian Rankin buy this album.
The combination of a great musician and a great writer works amazingly well. Some memorable songs, great arrangements combined with solid, humerous writing make this a must have for any Jackie Leven or Ian Rankin fan.

Doll bu Doll - " Gypsy Blood "
Came across this album by accident. Turns out it is recognised as a lost classic. Could not agree more. Stripshow & Gypsy Blood being the outstanding tracks. Pity that the arrival of Punk overshadowed the efforts of this group. Could have been massive. Jackie leven, the lead vocalist and band founder, went on to have long career as a soloist, but always on the fringes. He sadly died in november 2011. Try listening to some of his solo projects which all have a more folky feel but always with a strong undercurrent of rock.
