LASER Jet P2015dn Workgroup Laser Printer
2 of 2 found this helpful These are great little printers, and although not as rugged as the earlier series, they are light, fast, produce good print quality and are reliable. I happened to buy a duplex one on eBay with a network connection for only £50!
Things to watch out for:
It seems the formatter board in the printers are a bit unreliable, and if that happens, you may as well scrap the unit.
Watch out for the different versions. The "D" means duplex and is worth having and the "N" is the 10/100 Ethernet version, no gigabit yet, and for me, a networked version is essential. The "T" means tall and has an extra 500 sheet tray.
If you have the "T" version,you may find it only prints to tray 3, even if you want and set it to print to tray 2. You have to set tray 2 in both the printer driver and in the application for that to work, as the printer driver does not over-rule the application setting if it is set to default. Maybe HP will fix, or maybe not.
I realise I have highlighted some points to watch, but please take this as a positive review. These printers are good value, and I thoroughly recommend them.
Update 2013 - IMPORTANT
I real a story about baking the formatter boards in the oven if they failed. Well, I had 3 fauly ones, so I baked them one at a time and they all came back to life. If you don't believe me, google it. My opinion of this printer has increased!
