If you're Irish, read this (and read it if you're not!)
This is a fine book which tells the true history of Ireland - 'land of saints and scholars' - in a very readable form. Would make anyone proud to be Irish (even if, as in my case, only by marriage). My husband is, at this moment, wandering round Dublin, tracing the places he has just read about in the book -Newgrange, which should be more famous than Stonehenge; and where Handel's Messiah was first performed, among others. I want my son to read this book.
