Good Quality for a Low Price
This camera, my second digital from Kodak, takes very good photos for a compact. It is easy to use, quick in operation and the colours are very good (like the ancient DX3900 I still use), even just using the auto mode. There are quite a few scene modes for the adventurous, too! Every camera provides some irritations and on the CX7525 it is the auto-flash. I prefer to have it switched off as a default, but when you switch off the camera it resets to auto-flash for the next time. This is a minor negative for a camera that performs way above its price. A perfect camera for holidays, nights, ebay item pictures, plus extra controls for hobbyists.

Excellent Results (eventually)!
I bought an Optio 50 on ebay for a price I couldn't resist. "It's a Pentax - it must be good!" I thought. My first photos were taken on a night out with friends and the results were disappointing. Half of the photos were out of focus. I decided to read the instruction book and made a startling discovery: You should wait for the focus marks to go green before pressing the shutter all the way! Needless to say the next batch were in focus. My main interest is landscape photography and I have to say this camera has produced my best ever results in this field! The colours and sharpness are great. The only downside is that at the shortest zoom length there is some slightly noticeable "barrel distortion", but you get that with most compacts in this price range. I am still delighted with the photos I have produced on this very compact camera, though. I do recommend rechargeable batteries of at least 2000mAh to get the best battery life from this camera. You won't be disappointed.
