Sony Net MD Walkman MZ-N505 Personal MiniDisc Player

If you prefer controls e.g. delete, shuffle etc. to be with you all the time rather than at home on your computer then the mini disc player has an advantage over the MP3 player. This player has the best of both worlds in that it has potential for connecting up to the computer or simply to use as a 'stand alone' - the way I use it at present. Quality of recording is excellent even on extended play.(320 minutes per disc on EP). Check you can get hold of minidiscs easily. My local electrical shop does sell TDK packs but not all will. Having all the relevant accessories is important and I made sure of this when selecting who to buy from.

2 of 2 found this helpful All the atmosphere of live performance but with studio level quality and sound clarity. The album spans a wide spectrum of songs mostly previously recorded by Joan Baez but all with a new fresh approach. I bought it mainly as I wanted her rendering of one specific song: 'Deportee' by Woody Guthrie but the rest were a great bonus! This great music will never become dated in my opinion.

The best MP3! (Purple not silver)
I have previously wasted my money on a number of MP3 players as they have fallen short of what I needed in terms of compatibility, ease of use and overall design and features. Success at last! In this very slim beautiful little device I have plenty of memory, clear easily enlarged font on display, which is particularly important to me), video recorder, radio with live pause ... need I say more. Mine is metallic purple which in my opinion is the best colour. It has a curved design which makes it so easy to handle. I have many audio books from 'audible' transferred to it and still I have used only used a tiny amount of the memory. The built in speaker gives similar sound quality to a phone so not to be recommended for quality listening but with head phones or attached speaker set the sound is superb. I am no computer expert but I find a high level of compatibility with my computer which runs Windows Vista with current version of itunes. Also supports the latest format for downloaded audio books.
