A wide variety of clocks and pocket watches, but not wristwatches at present.

Pocket watches by J W Benson, E J Dent, Charles Frodsham and selected Swiss makers. Anything by Jaeger le Coultre except wristwatches. Mantel clocks especially Smiths Enfield. I would love to be able to afford a longcase clock, or a good quality English fusee bracket clock, so I am always looking for restoration projects.

I come from a family with four generations of dealers in works of art and antiques. My father deals in watercolour paintings, his father was a past President of the British Antique Dealers Association as was my great uncle Ronald A. Lee, a well known figure in antiquarian horology, most famous for his book on the celebrated Knibb family of clockmakers. My great grandfather was hairdresser (barber) to King George V, before finding more lucrative employment selling antiques to high society in London before the second world war. The late Queen Mary was a regular customer, but etiquette of the time dictated that if a monarch admired something of yours you were obliged to give it as a gift, so my great grandfather was forever having to make the excuse that the item belonged to someone else! Some of the antique dealer heritage has clearly rubbed off on me, but I am far more practical than my ancestors, having been a marine engineer for the last 25 years.

25 years as a marine engineer, working for Sunseeker, Halmatic, Northshore yachts, Westerly yachts, Southampton yacht Services (Oyster yachts) and myself as Mobile Marine Engineering. I am now involved with teaching apprentices in marine engineering and boatbuilding.
