I have had interest is quilts for 50+ years! Authentic, old, genuine real USA handmade quilts.I collect from friends, estates, private collectors, quilters and from Ebay. As my collection grows I pass along my finds in hopes others will enjoy them.
First let me say I am not an expert on anything!I have been intrested in old things, especially quilts, since I was a child.I get my knowledge from 50+ years of living with these things. My fabric knowledge comes from years of sewing and use. As for feed and flour sacks,I remember helping my father pick just the right one from the feedstore pile!My favorite memory is the look of the beautiful old quilts my mother piled on top of the featherbed she had so carefully fluffed! She would use a broom to smooth it till every lump was removed! I also remember the reminder not to sit on the bed because it would squash the featherbed!
My love of old things lead me to the antique & collectible business. I feel I have held every position in this business from owner to janitor.Upon retirement I found Ebay! What a way to meet new friends & gain new knowledge and share what I could. The 5 years I have been on Ebay I have learned so much & gained many loyal customers and friends. THANKS

Enjoying a Texas Spring Day & Hunting for QuiltsHad the pleasure of driving up to Fredericksburg today. What a beautiful spring day! Thought you might like to share the beauty. As always I was looking for quilts along the way. Found a couple that I'll list next week. One is a beautiful old one with lavender print. Tried to find out the history but wasn't successful. I find it such a shame some folks aren't interested in history. Guess that is all I can report today. Do hope everyone has a Happy & Safe Easter.07-Apr-07 02:54:42 BSTComments2
All those stitches! Thanks for all the welcomes! I am happy I decided to try blogs! I've been listing quilts this AM and thinking of all the talent went into the art of quilting.I have to admit I wish I had some of that talent! Or just maybe lived back in the day when ladies had time for such creativity! I so much admire the art. I've had a few teachers buy some items and I am always grateful these old pieces go to where they can be admired by more than one person. Hope these listings find good homes!05-Apr-07 20:43:14 BSTComments3
