All About Me

What everyone should know about me

I have thirty years experience almost exclusively selling gramophones and phonographs. I also sell cylinder records and gramophone needles. I have a comprehensive website; visit gramophones.uk.com and see my extensive stock.

Things I collect

I have a collection of British advertising on '78' gramophone records- that is to say records made prior to 1958. These can be large or small, and made of shellac, card or plastic and have advertising either as content or company-dedicated label. Please let me know what you have for sale or exchange.

History/background

Thirty years of specialisation in gramophones and phonographs from several shops since the mid 1970's. Customers all over the world from small collectors to National Museums. Film and TV hire regularly undertaken. Talks given. After-dinner speaking undertaken. Guest appearance on 'Richard and Judy' as well as many BBC television and radio programmes for BBC 1 and 2 and radios 2 and 4, World Service and local stations. TV includes Omnibus 'History of a Musical Dog' (1988) celebrating 100 years of the Gramophone. Several appearances as an expert for 'Boot Fair Booty' (Leopard Films for the BBC).

Payment policy

Any method except Western Union. I cannot accept personal cheques from countries outside the UK. Full payment details on my site gramophones.uk.com under 'Payments'.

Delivery information

I can and do send machines all over the world with something leaving almost every week. I am proud of my packing and have never had a breakage with a machine. For heavy exports I use an excellent professional packer.

Return policy

I take great care to describe my stock honestly. I will refund anything that you a customer feel is unsatisfactory. However this has yet to happen to me in over thirty years, so I sincerely hope that you won't be the first to ask!
