I have been a keen collector (my wife may say hoarder) of all sorts of things for many years (I still have my Beatles scrapbooks from the early 1960 s). Things I have spent serious time on collecting have been Comics (mainly American ones) and comic related toys, trading cards etc. I have now reached the grand age of 71 and decided to release some of my collection onto the outside world. Many toys have already been sold but with a collection of comics approximating thirty thousand taking up the whole of the garage, the loft and various other places around the house it has been suggested (quite forcefully) that it would be a good time to downsize the collection. I have agreed with the caveat that I can keep the Golden and Silver Age issues. So keep a look out!

Back to 1971
Great to find this on CD, I have been playing the original triple album since its release in 1971. The sound reproduction is as good as the records and it is such a showcase for George's talent that was never explored whilst he was a Beatle. Defiinitely worth a listen and once you have listened you will want to buy for yourself.

Doctor Who - Timelash DVD
I have watched Doctor Who since the first episode on 22 November 1963 when as a twelve year old I was fascinated by the whole concept of time travel. There have been a large variation in quality of stories over the years. Timelash started well with the introduction of 'Herbert' (later discovered to be H.G. Wells)but the story line was not one of the strongest and parts of it seemed to have been liberally borrowed from H.G. Wells. The story was made in a time of reduced budgets on the show and this is obvious from the costumes and sets. Paul Darrows appearance in the cast helped but could not save this story. It was interesting to see Paul with Colin Baker again as the had both previously appeared in an episode of Blakes Seven. Overall watchable but not outstanding. Not quite for completists only but getting close. The extras on the DVD are pretty scant as well, a commentary by Colin Baker, Nicola Bryant and Paul Darrow a 25 minute documentary and the usual Radio Times Billings, Production Subtitles, Photo Gallery and an Easter Egg.
