As I specialise in china and glass, I take a long time wrapping my sales. I use recycled boxes where possible, and recycled bubble wrap when I can. Otherwise I use new bubble wrap around the item, and polystyrene beads as infill. I improvise with card when necessary for extra protection. It can take half an hour to wrap one item adequately, especially if it's going overseas. I put a postage price in my listing, based on the weight of the item and an estimate of the weight of the packaging I will use. I then add a flat-rate amount of £0.50, which goes towards the cost of packaging materials. I do not make any profit from postage and packing charges - I spend more on P & P per month than I receive from buyers. I aim to get parcels posted within 48 hours of receiving cleared payment through Paypal. I let customers know if there's a problem with getting their order sent.

If buyers are not satisfied with their goods, they can return them within 14 days of the end of the auction, for a refund. If the return is due to my failure to describe an item adequately, I will also refund postage. Broken items should be notified to me as soon as they arrive, and a photograph sent by email. I wrap my items very well, so I have only had three breakages in eight months, and over 2,000 items despatched. One looked as though the box had been grabbed by a fork lift truck and deliberately crushed.
