Business InformationHistory/background
Started using eBay in 2006 but only for bidding and occasional buying when I then realised how effective the system was. I increased activity early in 2008 when I ventured into listing and selling once I realised the true value of having a 24/7 shop at your disposal.
Payment policy
I accept PayPal, Postal Orders or Cash on Collection for immediate despatch, plus Personal Cheques and E-Cheques when despatch will occur following fund clearance.
Delivery information
My Post and Packaging cost reflects the Post Office price and a small addition to cover the packaging and transportation to the Post Office.
Return policy
I will accept returns by negotiation, this has only happened once because I firmly believe in describing what I am selling as accurately as possible. I always obtain a receipt for postage, and have had one occasion when the goods didn't arrive which was amicably sorted with the buyer.
Contact information
Once payment has cleared, I always contact the buyer to let them know when their goods will be despatched, and I enclose a personalised letter with each parcel.
Message to eBay
I firmly believe there is little marketing of the site to encourage or inform other potential users. The concept is brilliant but, as far as I can see, it is advertised only by word of mouth. For the listing fees, the eBay charge and the PayPal charge eBay should be investing some of this to encourage more Users, and with the volume of traffic this has generated for the Post Office maybe there should be some discounts available as there really is no other choice as most individuals do not want to set up accounts with the likes of City Link etc. Maybe someone will advise me on cheaper postage options that can be used without the hassle of setting up an account.
