great music, greatly performed
1 of 1 found this helpful Fantastic performances from a fabulous venue. Bluegrass and old time country from the Grand Ole Opry. Every song is a gem in its own right. O' brother has done wonders for bluegrass and this concert is a splendid way to celebrate that. It could have done with a bit more thought in terms of special features and an informative booklet (both of which are completely absent), but that's just a little thing compared to how good the performances are.

1 of 1 found this helpful If I had to take only 1 cd with me on a desert island, this would be it! This is what music should be about. These are a collection of songs that tell move you to sing, play, dance or simply move you inside. Fantastic.

A stunning example of Hicks talent
Hicks and the Hot Licks are a real one-off in the musical panorama. The way they take lots of elements from swing, folk, western swing, psychedelia, comedy, harmony, call-and-response and fuse it to create something really unique is brilliant.
If you only ever buy one Hicks album (why?) make it this one.
