Forgotten classic. Watch it before it happens for real.
This is one of the best multi-level films ever made. One the one side of the coin it is a harmless Monty Python-esque slap stick style of comedy with men dressed as women, musical numbers and running gags that will have even the most restrained of you laughing. The other side is a tounge firmly in the cheek poke at the degredation of modern society and how happyness is only the answer if you ballance it out. You have to experience life's lows to appreciate the highs. Also a bold pollitical statement of how in this case the pharmaceutical industry is more concerned with profit than people. Criminally under rated at the time and definately a cult classic now. One of my top ten films of all time. I hope you enjoy it at whatever level.

In the begining there were Beavis and Butthead.
Without this film Tre Parker and Matt Stone would never have made Southpark or Team America, The Simpson Movie would not have happened and we would live in a world without Family Guy, American Dad or Futurama. When Mike Judge made a feature lengh version of a show that started out as filler between music videos he opened the flood gates for adult animated entertainment that wasn't about two Manga wariors duking it out but something the whole family could enjoy without the grown ups feeling sick (the market had been well covered by Walt Disney for over sixty years). The importance of this film is offen and criminally overlooked. Pixar would not have made Shrek, Toy Story or any of their franchise as entertaining to adults if the bench mark had not been set by Beavis and Butthead do America. The plot itself is as relevent today as it was back in 1996 and has between the lines has a poke at American terrorist paranoia well before the events of 9/11 brought it home. Beavis and Butthead have their TV stollen and go on an adventure accross the country to raise enough money to buy a new one. A little misunderstanding or two later they find themselves being expelled from school, hired as hitmen by a character called Muddy (Bruce Willis) to "Do his wife" (Demi Moore) and become the most wanted men in America. To a pair of teenaged boys "doing his wife" has a completely different meaning, this is taken advantage of by Demi Moore (there's a thought) and the pair are sent across country in a tour bus whilst unknown to them consealing a stollen experimental weapon. Look out the Congress scene to this day one of the funniest and scarey jokes ever made and the moral of the story? When Beavis and Butthead find their old tv dumped outside a motel they treat it like a long lost reletive and is a sad but true look at the way a generation have been raised but a by a box in the corner of the room rather than a parent or parents. So after you watch this film turn the tv off and kick a ball around a field or fly a kite with your children. As well as fine film in its own right and undoubtedly a classic this film is a forgotten warning about the power of parenting and the results of neglect. I hope you like it as much as I do. Rob

So bad it's good?
You know those films that are so bad they're quite good? This isn't one of them. Ridiculous plot, terrible acting and directed about as well as a GCSE Drama project. Some of the action sequences are superb and if these kids learned how to act I can see some really good films coming from Thailand in the future.
