Restored the sander to working order for a fraction of the cost of a new one!
The belt sander had ceased to work after a many hours of usage. Searching for a replacement I came across these and investigated the old ones that looked a fraction of the length of these, so took a punt on it! There were reasonably easy to fit, although pushing the springs in to get the caps back can be fiddly. I clamped it in the vice (soft jaws) and let it run for a few minutes to bed them in and it seems to be working fine now. Well worth trying before replacing the sander.

Fits more than just a Marina!
This is a new kit from Burlen Fuel Services who make all the SU parts. It says it is for a Marina but will fit any HS6 right hand carburettor with 30º offset between the float chamber and body since it comes without a needle. I used it on my Land Rover that has a conversion with no problems.

Let down by cheap and nasty rope and leaky stitching.
The quality of the canvas and the general manufacturing quality seems to be very good, however, it is let down by poor finishing off. A minor gripe is that there were no loops on the overhead straps to stop the ends dangling in front of your face - cheap previous hoods have had these. I have fed this back to the supplier who were hopefully going to take this on board. I transferred the ones of my old hood see photos.
The worst feature is the really cheap and nasty rope supplied. I bought 20m of synthetic 6mm hemp from a boat chandlers which is vastly superior quality. This cost me an extra £12, but was more than enough to do the job. I can't believe that with bulk buying that supplying a similar quality of rope would add significantly to the cost of manufacture! Luckily most of the ropes are pre-threaded so you can simply tape the new end to the old end and pull the new rope through, melting the ends with a lighter as you go.
Finally, there were several leaks where the buckles to roll the sides and back up are attached. I do expect a product of this price range not to leak when new! I have gone over all the vulnerable bits with Fabsil (which is not a cheap product). and saturated the webbing straps (side straps, rear straps and the taping inside all three windows). Hopefully this will now cure the problem.
If you do buy this product, make sure you allow for the extras needed and sort it before fitting.
