Original-style Tractor Tom
This Tractor Tom DVD has all the elements for success - at least with my children! My son (age 3) loves looking at the different farm machinery featured - he even appreciates the 'chug's of the engines (this is pre-voice version - later versions feature the machines talking, which can get annoying). My daughter is a more sophisticated 4, so appreciates the story lines, despite being more usually interested in fairies and all things pink. As a parent, I'm pleased that the farmer figure is played by a female! Comedy and animals feature largely too (sheep are hilarious), and the 5 (I think!) stories provide varied themes and 'messages' (helping your friends out etc). My only gripe is that the digital imaging seems to have been constructed before CGI/digital animation became more realistic, so the characters seem to 'float' around and their features are pretty basic, as compared to, say, 'Jakers', where the figures are better 'drawn'. I find this a bit weird, but the children as yet have not commented. All in all, good but rather secondary to the likes of 'Little Red Tractor', 'Pingu', etc. A good buy if a bargain though!
