2x Achromatic Barlow Lens 1.25” 31.7mm Metal for Telescope Eyepiece DC622

Metal Achromatic 2xBarlow - Recommended
I bought this to achieve better magnifications with my SkyWatcher 100ED-PRO. Which is only 900mm focal length. I don't like the restrictive view through anything less than a 8mm eyepiece, so I went along the lines of 2xBarlow. Because it's an ED I wanted a Barlow that wouldn't introduce much chromatic abberation. This well made (metal) achromatic 2xBarlow did the trick. I use it all the time and don't notice it's there at all. No 'false colour' to be seen. A great item.

SuperCooper Telescope Help advises you NOT to buy this awful make of telescope!
Spherically figured awful optics. This scope will barely show the basics of astronomy. there's no getting round the demands of physics when it comes to optical instruments. Buy these telescopes and regret it almost immediately. Have a look through even a 70mm refractor and get image quality atleast three times as good as this tat! Newtonian telescopes HAVE to have PARABOLIC mirrors to focus the light accurately - THis telescope does NOT have a parabolic mirror. It has a spherical mirror, which is a compromise. It is also too small to show much detail or gather enough light. You woud be better off with a 100P or 130P Newtonian or an 80mm refractor. These are basically toys and demonstrate the Newtonian system. They are NOT astronomical telescopes by any stretch of the imagination.

Not parabolic - Not good!
Awful quality image. I have never been a fan of spherically figured telescopes, even at f12, and this one is only f8 (near enough). I had a look at Mars and I must say, it completely confirmed my suspicions. The flare from the slightly out of focus bits of the image covered the detail in the focused bit. So much in fact, that I couldn't see any detail on the planet at this close opposition. Shame... I really wanted to be surprised. It's just an average small telescope that would be, and was, out-performed by the 70mm f13 refractor I had at the same time. The best thing about this scope is the finder which is not a red dot - I kid you not.
