    Not just for Radiohead enthusiasts
I only came across this album recently, so I can only comment on it with the benefit of already knowing Radiohead's subsequent material. Pablo Honey is a very powerful debut, strong melodic songs which grow the more you listen. The material here is perhaps less sophisticated than later releases, but you certainly know that you are listening to a band with great potential. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the album that this has the most in common with is 'The Bends', with the sound led by powerful guitar riffs and more predictably structured songs (U2 like at times), rather than the more adventurous electronic and eclectic sound on later albums. Whichever Radiohead you prefer, this album is a worthy addition to any collection, with Thom Yorke's hauntingly melancholy vocals threatening the emotions throughout. It's worth having for the anthem 'Creep' alone, although there are plenty of other strong songs to savour.
