Business Information

History/background
At Think IT Green we offer professional computer recycling and repair services, providing efficient solutions for the disposal of your redundant hardware whilst fulfilling the obligations of the WEEE directive. With the ever increasing environmental issues in mind, we aim to refurbish and reuse old ICT equipment wherever possible and therefore reducing the amount sent to landfills. Currently it is estimated that the UK produces 1 million tonnes of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) each year and this figure is expected to double over the next 15 years. The ever increasing volumes and varied nature of WEEE is difficult to dispose of and contains significant amounts of heavy metals and halogenated substances which, once disposed of through landfill may present hazards to public health and the environment. If these were to be recycled it would not only divert the waste from disposal but would also reduce the need to use virgin raw materials.
