Tools for Self Reliance is a simple idea - you can't work without tools. When we started in 1979, we knew from our experience in developing countries that blacksmiths and builders lacked tools to serve their communities. Today, hundreds volunteers at the Netley Marsh Workshop and around the UK collect, refurbish, and ship tools and sewing machines worth over £700,000 each year to six countries in Africa.
