    Entertainment or Fact?
I thought 300 was a fantastic film. Like its predecessor (Sin City), it was adapted from a Frank Miller graphic novel, and it I feel it is very important to bear that in mind when watching the film. It may come across as a little strange, and a little innacurate, as another reviewer pointed out (highlighting Xerxes as a prime example), but the whole point is that it is a heavily stylised film. The film is based on Frank Miller's take on the Battle of Thermopylae, not on the take of historians. I feel the stylisation actually adds a lot to the film, by characaturing Xerxes in the way the film does, we see the arrogance of his character well, considering he doesn't have a lot of film time. The guy thought he was a living God, and so the Xerxes of the film is almost the way that Xerxes imagines himself. The action scenes are amazing, and it doesnt divert too much (if at all) from the actual basics of the historical goings on, and all that aside, its simply just a great film. Very inspiring, and one you'll watch over and over again. Highly reccommended!
