Fast delivery of unusual Smiths 2-piece case marcasite watch, not found in extant catalogues. Marcasite watches appear in the '52 and '53 catalogues but the single-line "Smiths" on the dial (used mid-late '50s in women's watches, and in early men's) suggests c.1956-58 for this watch. I'll have to replace a few missing stones, clean up the dial a little (easy to damage the varnish), and get it serviced. The 300 cal. movement ticks when stirred, which gives hope. Good seller, recommended!
